As part of the Erasmus plus programme an informational video about balbriggan was created to show the students and teachers taking part in the programme from Ribadavia our school and its surroundings. The video which is available on Youtube.com is 2 minutes and 53 seconds long.
The video focuses mainly on the school building and its interior, but it also features the scenic views of balbriggan including the beach and harbour. The video is in Spanish but is very easy to understand.
The video proudly boasts Coláiste Ghlór na Maras beautifully modern interior and its equipment. Including but not limited to the sports hall and gym, its clean and neat corridors, its yard and outdoor basketball courts, its large classrooms and it’s up to date science and technology lab.
The video also shows how Coláiste ghlór na Mara uses modern teaching and learning techniques to help the students understand the curriculum better for example the geography video made by the second-year students. By making this video the students learned not only geography but important video making skills.
The videos informs the people of IES Ribadavia of the fun activities students may participate in whilst attending Coláiste Ghlór na Mara. For example, school tours and adventures for example the trip taken to lough dan by fourth years last year, home economics classes, school sports teams like basketball and gaelic football and the school musical which is annually put on by fourth years with the help of Muintreoir Cian, Múineoir Sarah and Múinteoir Siobhán.
Not only does the video show the school but also its location and surroundings. The video shows the people of Ribadavia what they must look forward to when they visit Balbriggan this year for example, the scenic and unique beach and harbour located only five-minute drive away from the school.
Not only does this video inform the people of Ribadavia on the assets and opportunities that balbriggan has to offer for young people it also forms a connection between these two towns who at first glance seem like polar opposites but when you look closer you see that they are quite similar in many unique ways.
This video not only bonds our two schools it also marks one of the first steps taken by Coláiste Ghlór na Mara in this exciting and rewarding project.

Tugann an fís eolas do mhuintir IES Ribadavia ar na himeachtaí eagsúla gur féidir leat páirt a ghlacadh I agus tú ag freastal ar Choláiste Ghlór na Mara. Mar shampla turasaí scoile mar an turas go loch dan a thóg an ceathrú bhliain anuraidh, ranaganna eacnamaíocht bhaile, foireanna spóirt mar shampla foireann peile agus cispheile na scoile agus an ceoldrama bliantiúl a chuireann an ceathrú bliain ar siúl le cabhar ó múínteoir cian, múinteoir sarah agus Múinteoir siobhán.
Ní amhain go taispeanann an fís an scoil, taispeanann sé an timpeallacht agu comharsanacht comh maith. Taispeáinann sé seo do mhuintir Ribadavia na rudaí gur féídir leo tnúth le nuair a thagann siad go héireann. Mar shampla an trá agus cuan áilinn agus éagsúla atá ach cúig nóiméad ón scoil sa charr.
